Preparing to be a Vendor

 

One thing that every Cincinnati Flea Market Vendor has in common is owning goods that you need to let go of. So when you are preparing your items, a fews things you should consider are below, to make buyers crowd around your space, help you sell more, and head home with a fat wallet to be proud of.

 

• Is it of value or should it be dropped off at a charity. Better quality equals more sales.

• Have a good selection of items. Buyers like choices and stay longer with a good variety.

• Don’t be shy on how much stuff you bring. A single parking space holds a lot of items.

• Buyers like to rummage. They like to deal and they like crazy stuff. Bring yours.

• Bring folding tables so your stuff is within easy eyesight and reach.

• Make your booth stand out. The crazier the better.

• Be prepared for weather. Spring rain. Summer sun. Fall chill.

• Bring food and drinks. Peddlers Café is inside too with great favorites.

• If you can bring someone with you, it helps for breaks and in selling.

• Be knowledgeable, but let buyers do the talking. Just keep them engaged.

• Be prepared to be asked what items cost.

• Set minimum prices in your mind so that you don’t get out bartered.

• Bring lots of lower denomination bills for change.

Arriving the day-of at Peddlers

 

Pack up the night before and get here early. Many vendors arrive at 6am even though we are not technically open until 7am on Saturday and Sunday. They do this to get the spot that works best for them, AND they’ve learned that if you get here after the buyers have arrived it can be a feeding frenzy. Bargain hunters may swarm on your booth as you are unloading. Beat the crowd by arriving early. Then set up and take a break before showtime.

 

A visit from Tommy

 

Mid-morning, Tommy will stop with clipboard to check in on you, answer questions or concerns, and to learn about your experience at Peddlers. At this time he will collect your booth space rental fee - $20 per space plus $10 for an adjacent vehicle parked next to it. Stay the day or be on your way

 

Cincinnati’s Peddlers Flea Market has 7am to 5pm hours, but you can come and go as you please when you are a vendor. Our suggestion to you is to bring the good stuff and lots of it. Display it in a way that will draw buyers like moths to a flame. Maybe hold back on some of your quality stuff for later in the morning when others are picked over. The goal is to out sell, out last, and head out with lots of folding money.
